A series of events suitable for everybody to discover the classical composers and their works within the historical context. Four Sundays in the Annunziata room at the S. Agostino Cloister with educational, but not academic conferences about the great composers listening to their music.
On Sunday 11 February "Invito all'ascolto: Mozart e il suo tempo. Contesto storico, musicale, letterario in Europa e in Italia". Some of the most beautiful symphonies such as the" Symphony No. 40 in Sol Minore "and the" Symphony No. 41 Jupiter." Anecdotes between history and stories, the influences of the context on the personality and work of the composer, a man beyond his century. On schedule excerpts of "Bastiano and Bastiana”, “The concert for violin and orchestra No. 3 and No. 4”, “Concerts for piano and orchestra KV503 , KV338, KV482”, “Concert for oboe and orchestra K28”, “Concerts for horn and orchestra KV412, KV417, KV447 and KV495” and "Don Giovanni." At the end, a live performance of the music teacher of the Istituto Civitali di Lucca, Prof. Giampiero Pierini. The meeting will be presented by Susanna Altemura.

Beethoven e le sinfonie di Paganini,Vivaldi, Corelli ", on Sunday, April 8 at 5:30 pm with "Il Romanticismo e l’800. A Vienna un mondo musicale: Strauss and Schubert ", and on Sunday, May 13 at 6:00 pm with ” Il Romanticismo e l’800 in Italia. L’opera… Aspettando Giuseppe Verdi".
The meetings will all be conducted by Susanna Altemura with the support of Marilena Cheli Tomei, the music teacher Paolo Spadaccini, former President of the Puccini Festival Foundation and current President of the "Enzo Lucci" Torre del Lago Opera Club. All the compositions heard are taken from the vinyl collection donated recently to the Public library by Giovanni Benassi from Pietrasanta, collector and lover of classical music.
