The Town Administration of Viareggio and the Puccini Festival Foundation organize a concert on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 9:00 pm at the Politeama theater in Viareggio with the Regional Orchestra of Tuscany (ORT) and Michele Campanella (piano and concert director).

Michele Campanella, one of the greatest Italian pianists, authentic music intellectual, after more than half a century of career, decided to direct himself the orchestra. For his return to the ORT (Orchestra della Toscana), he chose Mozart: works of the period in which, after having abandoned the place in the orchestra in Salzburg, where the composer was born, moved to Vienna doing the "freelance". Strong pieces are two concerts, the sun and the moon, written a few months of distance one from the other during the composition of the Marriage of Figaro.
The Regional Orchestra of Tuscany was formed in Florence in 1980 on the initiative of the Tuscany Region, the Province and the City of Florence. In 1983, during the artistic direction of Luciano Berio, it became the Orchestral Concert Institution by recognition of the Ministry of Tourism and Entertainment. Composed of 44 musicians, which are also subdivided into flexible chamber formations, the Orchestra realizes rehearsals and concerts, distributed throughout Tuscany, in the historic Teatro Verdi, located in the center of Florence. The Florentine performances are broadcasted by Radiorai Tre and Rete Toscana Classica.
