Along the characteristic paved streets of the village you will admirare the many Nativity scenes made by families and owners of commercial activities on the occasion of the eleventh edition of the villagers' competition "Benabbio in the Crib" which was conceived by the passion of the villagers for the crib and in particular for the Mameluke, the figurine that all local children have seen painted by the hand of their mothers and grandmothers. A particular route in the village where you will see the nativity scenes exibited outside the houses and the shops, and in the most beautiful corners of the village.

The cribs, about fifty, are set up along the streets of the village and are curated in all details in anticipation of the competition and to teach children the art of making plaster statuettes, an art born in Bagni di Lucca. The cribs are numbered and a map will be created so that all visitors can stroll in the streets of the town enjoying the special show.

In the middle of the tour, in San Rocco, visitors can admire the particular realization of completely handmade Nativity (a work out of competition) with a particular technique.
9 natural size statues made of metal and enliven by the hands of Mauro Franceschi who has hand-painted all the heads of the characters, starting from the metal T (in iron) that is modeled with a wire mesh, then coated with different types of cloth and subsequently painted and resined, so as to give life and "expression" to the material.
