With the anniversary of Giacomo Puccini's death on November 29, the traditional Puccini Month, a winter festival of the Puccini Festival Foundation held between November 29 and the anniversary of the birth of the Maestro on December 22 and further, proposes a series of interesting events including music, art, literature and cinema.
The Puccini Award is one of the main events of the Puccini Month taking place in the area of Torre del Lago and Viareggio, hosting the young artists of the Graduate Academy and some conferences that will be held in unusual places, like the Marineria Museum, Villa Paolina, the Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery. The concerts include a Homage to Maria Callas, a preview of the celebrations of the opera "Il Trittico" (Triptych of one-act operas).
Andrea Bocelli is the voice of Puccini awarded on November 29, in the 93rd anniversary of the Giacomo Puccini's death. The Tuscan tenor also interpreted some Puccini operas on the stage on the shore of Lake Massaciuccoli, and in his extraordinary artistic career he has always shown his love for Puccini.
On Monday January 1, 2018 the New Year's concert directed by Carlo Bernini is programmed at 12:00 noon in the Politeama theater, Lungomolo del Greco in Viareggio. Free admission with reservation only.
