The dell'Olivo theater in Camaiore is not only a place of entertainment, but an architectural experience. It is located in a place that once hosted a wool puller; built during '500, the puller went bankrupt and its owner left the town. Only in 1649 the "Accademia dei Deboli" (Academy of the Weaks) , an association formed by a group of citizens from Camaiore, asked to reopen the building, so that it could host comedies and other theater performances.
The theater is welcoming the new season, confirming an important cultural reference for live performances in Versilia. Classic and contemporary, tradition and new kinds of expressions are the guidelines of the 2017-2018 billboard, programmed from November 18, 2017 to April, 8, 2018, designed to respond to the growing demand for live entertainment. Thanks to the consolidated collaboration between Fondazione Toscana Spettacolo onlus and the Municipality of Camaiore this year will be presented a wide-ranging program with important protagonists, including Tullio Solenghi, Veronica Pivetti, Amanda Sandrelli Sergio Muniz, Lucia Poli, Milena Vukotic, Alice Spisa, Ascanio Celestini and Roberto Alpi.
In the program ten appointments of great interest ("Sorelle Materassi" from the Palazzeschi novel, "Decameron" by Boccaccio, a reference to Pirandello with "Pupi Siamo"), reflections about the theme of love (Diego Fabbri's "Il seduttore", Viktor & Viktoria from Schunzel's film 1933, "Cuori Scatenati" with Sergio Muniz), and news about "forgotten lives" by narrator Ascanio Celestini ("Pueblo") and the In-Box Finalist, "Scarabocchi".
In the program on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 9:00 pm, Ascanio Celestini with "Pueblo". Together with Gianluca Casadei on the accordion, the actor from Rome tells stories about the life of persons living on the edge of society.
