An exhibition that pays homage to the two painters in the 60th anniversary of the passing of Rosai and in the 40th of the death of Guidi reminding to their friendship which started at the beginning of the '50s.
Ottone Rosai, in the early 1950s, repeatedly stayed at Guidi's place and painted numerous pictures on the sea, the pine forests of Forte dei Marmi and the Apuan Alps. On the sheet where he portrayed impromptu he reported the essential sketches of the vision and the name of the colors written in the various spaces that then he transformed into oil paintings in the Guidi pine forest. During those stays, Rosai performed the charcoal portraits of Ugo and also the oil portaraits of Vittorio and Fabrizio, displayed on show.
Rosai's works from private collections will be exhibited only for the day of the inauguration. Among the works that can be admired only on August 2nd there is a self-portrait of 1933, an oil painting from the 50's and six charcoal portraits of Florentine characters.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Wednesday, August 2nd at 6:00 pm and introduced by the performance of some Celtic music pieces played by duo Auld Erin with Mailè Orsi, guitars and Giovanni Iacopetti, violin.
At the end of the presentation a toast will be offered by Giusti & Zanza.
After the inauguration the exhibition can be visited only upon reservation.
