The coloful exhibition of Sergio Sarri adorns the rooms of Villa Argentina, in Viareggio, from July 22nd to September 10th. The exhibition, which has been realized by the Province Lucca in collaboration with the Association Sergio Sarri, the sponsorship of the City Viareggio, the adhesion of MiBACT - Suprintendency of Fine Arts and Landscape of Lucca and Massa Carrara ad the support of Robilant+Voena, gathers more than thirty pictures made between 1968 and 2017. A real anthological exhibition that examins fifty years of the artist's career, proposing him as one of the Pop Art protagoniests. 


The opening will take place on Saturday, July 22nd at 6:30 pm.


Sergio sarri was born in 1938 in Turin, he lives in Calice Liguria.
By the end of the '50s he travels around Europe participating in some painting courses in Berna and Paris. After the Journey in the United States, in 1965, he starts his research on the relationship between man and machines which will become the main topic of his work. He dedicates also to experimental research cinema with the films entitled "Le storie di Varazze" (The stories of Varazze), "Le avventure di Nessuno" (Nobody's adventures) and "Vostock".
In 1969 he starts a collaboration with the Vinciana Art Gallery in Milan that will last for serveray decades.
Passionata about comics, by the end of the '80s he starts to publish comic strip stories on the magazines "Corto Maltese" and on international magaziones "Heavy Metal" and "Comic Art", signing as SeSar. From 1994 to 1997 he was a teacher of Art Anathomy at the Brera Academy in Milan.


Sarri has exhibited in important public and private institutions such as: Musée Municipal di Saint Paul de Vence (1968); XXXVI Biennale Internazionale d'Arte di Venezia nella Sezione Grafica e nel padiglione Venezia (1972); Galleria Vinciana, Milano (1969, 1972, 1973); Galerie-T, Amsterdam (1974); Hagener Kunst Kabinet, Hagen (1975); Palazzo dei Diamanti, Ferrara (1976); Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Parigi (1980); XI Quadriennale di Roma (1986); Galleria Nuova Gissi, Torino (1994); Montserrat Gallery, New York (1996,1998); Universitat de Valencia, Valencia (2003); Museo MAGI '900, Pieve di Cento (2003); 54° Esposizione Internazionale d'Arte della Biennale di Venezia, Padiglione Italia, Milano (2011); Galleria Robilant+Voena, Milano (2017).
