The antiques trade tradition of Lucca has origins in the distant past: born in the Middle Ages when the nobility were the usual look, all over Europe, with exclusive pieces which enrich their homes. In 1970 Lucca antique dealers along with restaurateurs and traders in other sectors gave birth to the first edition and the Antique Market Lucchese is now a major event in the panorama of Lucca.

The third Sunday of the month and the Saturday before, Via Battistero Piazza Antelminelli Piazza San Martino, Piazza San Giusto, Piazza San Giovanni and Piazza Bernardini house the market and visitors.
220 exhibitors from all over Italy make it one of the most important in the country, not only for the quality of the exhibits but also for the hospitality and the natural disposition on streets and historic squares.
